Frequently asked
Questions, answered plainly.
What a first conversation covers, what independence actually means, how we are paid, and how your information is handled.
What happens on a first conversation?
You tell us what decision you are considering. We ask a few questions, explain which insurance options may be relevant, and identify what deserves a closer look. No documents, preparation, or decisions are required.
Afterward we can send written material so you can read at your own pace before anything is applied for.
What does it mean that Skyway is independent?
Four separate things determine what we can offer, and they are worth keeping distinct.
State licensing: an insurance producer must hold a license in the state where a consumer is located. Carrier appointment: a licensed producer must also be appointed or contracted with a specific insurance company before offering its products. Product availability: individual products and features are filed state by state, so availability varies. Compensation: when a policy is issued, the insurer may pay a commission, and amounts vary by product and carrier.
We can only compare products Skyway is licensed and appointed to offer.
How is Skyway paid?
There is no fee for an initial conversation. If you purchase an insurance policy, the issuing insurer may compensate Skyway through a commission. Compensation can vary by product and carrier.
Applicable costs, compensation, and material conflicts will be explained before an application is submitted.
Which states can Skyway serve?
Insurance products are offered only in states where Skyway and the applicable insurance producer are properly licensed. Product and carrier availability varies by state and individual circumstances.
Does Skyway give investment or tax advice?
No. Skyway is an independent insurance agency. We provide insurance education and insurance-product guidance. We do not provide legal, tax, accounting, or investment advice. Consult the appropriate licensed professional for advice in those areas.
If a decision depends on tax treatment, portfolio construction, or estate documents, we will say so and suggest you involve the professional who is licensed for it.
How is my information handled?
The contact form collects only what you type into it: your name, your email address, and anything optional you choose to add. It is used to reply to you.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. Scheduling is handled by Calendly, which collects the information you enter on its own page under its own privacy policy.
Full details are in the Privacy Policy.
Can Skyway help with Medicare?
Yes — we explain how Parts A, B, C, and D and Medigap fit together, what the enrollment windows are, and which plan-specific details to check. Medicare Advantage is a private-plan alternative for receiving Part A and Part B benefits; a person remains enrolled in Medicare and must generally continue paying the Part B premium.
Medicare.gov, 1-800-MEDICARE, and your State Health Insurance Assistance Program are free, neutral resources you can use alongside anything we discuss.
